Get the
best of all worlds on the Outer Banks in this five-bedroom/three-full-bath
getaway. Enjoy majestic treetop views of the canal and marine forest -- with
abundant wildlife and birds. The beach house is off of the beaten trail atop
one of the largest dunes in the OBX. No traffic, no crowds, lots of Mother
Nature. We are located in Southern Shores, a shore to sound community with a
broad range of amenities. including marinas and boat launch areas, tennis, and
playgrounds for the kids. A quiet 10-15 minute walk to a private guarded beach
or drive 2 minutes to ample beach parking. Tennis courts in gorgeous pine
setting 200 yrds from the house. Kayak in miles of canals right from the
backyard. Town of Duck is 1 1/2 miles by drive or bikepath. Great location for
biking, roller blading or letting the kids play in neighborhood. Access to all
water sports rentals in Duck. Golf, hanggliding, parasailing, surfing, the
works. Grocery stores and shopping in the great boutiques of Duck within a 5
minute drive.
Relax in the large screened porch overlooking the lush natural setting. The
views from the two master bedroom decks and house-top "eagle's-nest" deck offer
some of the best views in the OBX area. The first-level rec room with an
adjacent kids bedroom with TV/DVD and full bathroom provides separate space for
the younger crowd.
2 kayaks come free with the rental and can be launched from your own backyard dock. The canals are quiet and perfect for short or long outings. Also bring your fishing rods for the great fishing and binoculars for birdwatching. This is truly a rare spot on the Outer Banks!
